The main concept of this project was to recreate a harmonious book cover of an already existing cover that coincides with the inside of the book cover to create a cohesive piece that emits the message of what the book is about. There were to be two cover recreations, one that is more image-dominant and the other that is more type-dominant. The front, spine, and back cover were all redesigned, as were the chapter title and breaks. The inside of the book was designed to coincide with the front cover through systematic guidelines using Rosarivo Canon. Through this process, the anatomy of a book was learned. Microelements within the book such as the folio, running head, and chapter title were all created with the book cover in mind. Paragraph styles, grep, and further InDesign tools were used to achieve the interior design of the book as typographic errors within the pasted text block. Overall, through this project, the creation of a book cover was achieved as well and new typographic rules were learned.
