TV GIRL Summer’s Over

Summer’s Over consists of light hypnotic pop tunes paired with the lyrical narrative of a girl’s dysfunctional love she experienced with a summer fling. The dysfunctionality of the girl’s relationship is shown through the static look which is also a play on the band’s name “TV Girl.” The inclusion of the woman and the man throughout the set represents the themes of incessant manipulation in their relationship. The constant playful looping sounds in the music's background and the girl’s hazy feeling at a party are shown on the record set with a hypnotic spiral centered around the eye with abstract sun rays radiating from it to also represent summer. The color palette was inspired by warm youthful feelings and the album's pop ballad melody. Overall, the interplay of light hypnotic pop tunes with themes of young dysfunctional love are shown throughout the record set with the use of graphical shapes, textures, imagery and colors.
